It is so clear that Lydia takes after her mother. Mrs Bennet sympathizes w/ Lydia & Kitty in their disappointment of not being able to follow the militia to Brighton:
Their affectionate mother shared all their grief; she remembered what she had herself endured on a similar occasion, five-and-twenty years ago.
It seems that Mrs Philips also sympathizes -- she & Mrs Bennet may have been a pair of sisters like Lydia & Kitty (wonder which of them is the elder?).
