in consequence of the missive, Jane's Goodness, penned by BarbaraB
I think its hard to know for certain what Jane does/doesn't do because, honestly, we don't SEE her and Bingley together very often. We are TOLD they're talking together at various dinners or what not but we don't actually SEE their interaction. We never SEE their "courtship." We can only guess how she'd behave by what others say in the novel and by knowing her general nature. I'm certainly not saying that Jane would have behaved improperly or vulgarly but perhaps we just aren't told some of the little "acceptable" things she might have done. She obviously showed enough that Bingley was sure of her feelings (until Darcy stuck his nose in the situation and took advantage of Bingley's trust in him and his natural "modesty").
