I might try to point out some of the "dangers" in marrying Bingley, but I wouldn't assure Jane that the man she loves is indifferent to her. As to the jerk who is his friend, I might be more worried if that
Pointing out the negatives is not the same as assurance of an unknown. (And btw, in the novel, Bingley is already in London -- he wasn't persuaded to run off to London, merely persuaded not to return. I see a difference, though your mileage may vary.)
