"The character of Anne has always fascinated me because I pity her to such an extent. Because so little is known about her she has been fertile fodder for many sequels, prequels, etc. I have always hoped for the absolute best for her."
So have I, and I cannot help thinking of Frederica in Lady Susan. Of course Lady Susan was a true monster, to a farer extent than Lady Catherine, but anyway I pity so much Miss de Burgh that I hope that she will be taken under sisterly wing(s) and be given the opportunity of growing free of such a mother, who wished her only good but in so terrible a way, as to prevent any progress from her.
I see sometimes Lady Catherine as the tiger mother of a poor gazelle... Unlikely to eat her but how could she graze?
