My first impression of Lady Catherine is "do as I say, not as I do." She does a good job of glossing over her own deficiencies and poor Anne DeBourgh not only appears to be physically deficient but perhaps a bit of an intellectual simpleton as well.
The character of Anne has always fascinated me because I pity her to such an extent. Because so little is known about her she has been fertile fodder for many sequels, prequels, etc. I have always hoped for the absolute best for her.
