The Longbourn estate has a village of Longbourn sitting on it (just as Mansfield Park has Mansfield village, and Barton Park in S&S has Barton Village), and the estate had been in the family for several generations. Lucas Lodge was only a large house bought by Sir William when he retired from business. It does not even say that Netherfield has a village on it. Miss Lucas helped with the mince pies in the kitchen, while Mrs Bennet prided herself that she always had servants to do the work, and her daughters had nothing to do in the kitchen.
It is not just money, but lineage also, Sir William had received a knighthood, but he was only a retired tradesman.
