in consequence of the missive, Chap 25: Mrs Gardiner is uneasy :-), penned by kathleen (elder)
Right off, Jane Austen's introduction of Mrs. Gardiner appears to place her in the role of mentor and alternate mother-figure to Jane and Elizabeth, a task their own mother seems to have difficulty with when distressed (which is often). Just reading the favorable description of her I like her very much already. I think we will see much more of Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner as pivotal catalysts to the unfolding events of this story.
