in consequence of the missive, Chap 25: Mrs Gardiner is uneasy :-), penned by kathleen (elder)
She's like the ideal aunt. (What was it Jane Austen said about the importance of aunts? ;-D) She's able to save the girls from their mother's drama, she understands fashion but isn't frivolous, and she's straightforward on matters without feeling the need to lecture. I enjoy this passage because even though she speaks to Elizabeth as one in authority she also treats Elizabeth as an intelligent woman rather than a child to be ordered about. I like her very well. :-)
