and Elizabeth, happening to see the countenance of both as they looked at each other, was all astonishment at the effect of the meeting. Both changed colour; one looked white, the other red.
So we meet this wonderful young man whom the Narrator is gushing over and then this meeting with the Darcy about whom we have had decidedly mixed feelings. But I could not make out from the text who was what colour.
White implies fear; red could be anger or embarrassment. At this stage can we remotely guess who was what? Does Darcy have a hidden secret he is scared about? Or embarrassed about? Or is he angry? Or is this charming stranger going to bring about some twist in the tale?
