There are some trees that will not fruit if they do not have three months of dormancy -- cold weather -- between flowering seasons. I am not sure that Anne and Capt. Wentworth are not more happy NOW than they would have been if he had wrote her when posted into the Laconia. Every obstacle overcome, including the internal ones, must have sweetened the reunion for them.
