Arrgh! ...   Written by gianni (10/30/2011 7:15 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, You're pretty much right, Kathryn ..., penned by gianni
Are you new?

...I forgot to include capitalized words. Also, Stephanie's comment about total size is good. The new count (changes bold):

file Pride and Prejudice.txt (15201 lines):
persuasion = 6; persuade = 17; persuades = 0; persuaded = 21

file Sense and Sensibility.txt (12979 lines):
persuasion = 11; persuade = 8; persuades = 0; persuaded = 16

file Emma.txt (21197 lines):
persuasion = 4; persuade = 14; persuades = 0; persuaded = 26

file Mansfield Park.txt (19281 lines):
persuasion = 2; persuade = 19; persuades = 0; persuaded = 18

file Northanger Abbey.txt (10367 lines):
persuasion = 6; persuade = 8; persuades = 0; persuaded = 5

file Persuasion.txt (11488 lines):
persuasion = 4; persuade = 8; persuades = 0; persuaded = 12

Only one added in each of three novels, none of which is Persuasion.

Stephanie, I understand your comment in the conceptual sense, but I don't think "guide", for instance, influences a change toward a title "Persuasion".
