in consequence of the missive, Anne's faults & failings. (long), penned by Rachel G
While I love Anne to death, I am always frustrated by her lack of action in the first part of the book relative to her love for Frederick. She's clearly very competent in other areas, but she seems to wallow in Frederick's loss far too much. She seems to lack the courage to act in any way that would help her get over her loss.
In the final few chapters, we see her finally provoked into action by her realization that Wentworth is jealous of Mr. Elliot.
Of course, if she had acted earlier, we wouldn't have this beautiful story.
