Mrs Smith and Anne

in consequence of the missive, I am not inclined to be so severe on Mrs. Smith, penned by Ramya
I think for waht its worht that Col B should have said something... but there were a few extenuating circumstances. One was the male code of honour, which a woman like Mrs S might be presumed not to share. A woman woudl be more likely to think "even if it is telling tales, I should say something since I dont wnat my friend to end up married to a sleazy man"...
ONE statement or the other must be untrue. EVEN if ti was that she hoped that if Anne got married, it woudl help her (Mrs S) then why not just say nothing when she found out that it wasn't going to happen? If she has all this pent up anger against Mr E then really she has no business not saying soemthing to protect Anne from him....If she genuinely felt "well he seems to have reformed and let's hope for the best", she could have just said nothing and left it ot chnace wehter Anne wed him or not... |
