showing vs telling love   Written by AmyFlo (10/27/2011 7:55 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, The anticipation!, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

One more thing that I forgot to include that gave me goosebumps in the moments right before The Letter.

Once Frederick leaves, Anne instinctively goes to the writing desk. Well, in my crazy mind, I think she instinctively does it! ...to move closer to the table where he had been writing It's not "the writing desk" or "that part of the room." It's "the spot where he was," and it's a beautiful example of showing a woman in love and how she acts, and not just telling the readers.

And that showing vs telling is also displayed in P2, when Anne sits at the piano (after Lyme) and plays the notes Wentworth had picked at during their first night back in each other's company. That was such a heartbreaking moment, but it conveyed so much.
