Mrs Smith and Mr E   Written by Bridget D (10/27/2011 12:06 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, A mixture of motives, penned by Ramya
Are you new?

I dont see a paralell with Col B. He is if anything acting against his own self interest in not revealing what he knew of Willougby.. in that if he siad nothign Marianne might marry Will. Mrs Smith is encouraging hte match with Mr E for her own reasons of self interest and then when told thtat Anne has no desire to marry him, she reverses course completely and tells her that Mr E is the "Most evil villain ever". OK he may not be that bad, compared ot many, but she clearly sees him as a very bad lot. BUT if she truly saw him as such, why encourage Anne to wed him?
