Are you new?

If you include folks who started 'to think seriously,' but never got around to telling Anne, then Elizabeth is way ahead. As far back as ch. 1:

[...] to do [Elizabeth] justice, [she] had, in the first ardour of female alarm, set seriously to think what could be done, and had finally proposed [...]

...well, she proposed two or three things that were no where near good enough to actually help. So, I suppose her definition of 'thinking seriously' might be a tad different than Anne's.
