Trips:- Supposing....   Written by Rachel G (10/24/2011 12:58 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, music, trips, appearances, penned by Nikki N
Are you new?

Let us suppose that when Frederick failed to return when he had made some money, Anne concluded that he was just not that into her. Let us also suppose that her heart had healed enough to be open to a new relationship. I believe she would still have been drawn to characteristics that she found so alluring in Frederick - confidence, ardour, enthusiasm, wit - characteristics which Lady Russell condemns as 'dangerous'.

What would have happened if Lady Russell had taken Anne on more trips, to Weymouth or wherever? I think she would have made strenuous efforts to prevent Anne from getting involved again with anyone who appeared remotely 'dangerous', and would only have allowed her to meet 'suitable' men. I wonder how she would have reacted if a thoroughly dangerous type had shown up who also happened to be titled and rich.
