L&T question: An unfashionable part of town   Written by Line (10/22/2011 1:02 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Anne's acquaintance with Miss Smith- an analysis, penned by Ramya
Are you new?

I can't help noticing from the Persuasion Gazetteer that Westgate *Street* turned into Cheap Street a few blocks later, the same way the Gardiners probably lived in London's Cheapside in P&P. No wonder Sir Walter disapproved! From what I can tell, "Westgate Buildings" seems to have been the name of a street, not just the actual buildings where Mrs. Smith lived. Can anyone tell me if I got that right? Thanks!
