Comtemporary geography terms   Written by Stephanie (10/20/2011 11:54 a.m.)
Are you new?

All the way back in ch. 8, Mrs. Croft tells of her travels and says:

"But I never went beyond the Streights,"

I have both Shapard's and Morrison's annotations, and they disagree. Morrison says that she means the straits of Florida (note 24), and Shapard says the straits of Gibraltar (note 50).

Can anyone tell me the arguments for thinking it is one over the other? Or name for me a text with enough information that I can make a comfortable guess at it myself?
