low company, paltry rooms, foul air, disgusting   Written by Stephanie (10/20/2011 11:46 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, In spite of their differences regarding Mr. Elliot...., penned by jeffrey
Are you new?

I do not strongly dislike her, but no one has yet pointed out (so I will), that Lady Russell likely had another motive in transporting Anne to Westgate Bldgs. Had she been at all worried about the neighborhood, seeing Anne safely in the door would be a natural (and very maternal) choice to make.

Lady Russell never alludes to it, and Anne certainly does not seem nervous about the area, so I may be wrong. My safety would have been my family's main concern, not the fallen rank of an old friend, so maybe I am projecting. But did not any one else think of that?
