Lady R and Anne   Written by Bridget D (10/19/2011 5:27 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I've never really warmed to Lady Russell..., penned by Laura Marie
Are you new?

She did what she could. She gets her to Bath, just after the break up with Fred but Anne dislikes Bath and problaby IIRC refuses to go there again. Lady R doesn't go much to London, she's an older lady and Bath is her "city for pleausre and society", albeit it was getting to be seen as a bit of a backwater by the time of hte novel. I think that she would like Anne to go to London, but the Elliots aren't keen to take her, and Lady R probalby cant' afford to spend a lot of time there herself and it would look odd if she were to insist on bringing Anne to London and showing her off in society when Sir W and Miss were not interested in haivng Anne in town. She DID hope for someone nice and interesting to join hte Kellynch circle who might help A get over her love for Fred, but it was a small and limited socity and that didn't happen.
