Capt Benwick and Mr Elliot   Written by Nikki N (10/17/2011 2:00 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, New possibilities for Anne?, penned by Rachel G
Are you new?

In chap 14 --

"There can be no doubt that Lady Russell and Anne were both occasionally thinking of Captain Benwick from this time ...
Captain Benwick came not, however. He was either less disposed for it than Charles had imagined, or he was too shy; and after giving him a week's indulgence, Lady Russell determined him to be unworthy of the interest which he had been beginning to excite."

So it seems that Capt Benwick is not going to be interested in Anne in a more serious way.

But Mr Elliot -- Anne met him again on her first evening at Bath -- chap 15 --
"Anne, smiling and blushing, very becomingly shewed to Mr. Elliot the pretty features which he had by no means forgotten ... his eye brightened! and with the most perfect alacrity he welcomed the relationship, alluded to the past, and entreated to be received as an acquaintance already .........

Anne could not have supposed it possible that her first evening in Camden Place could have passed so well."
