Are you new?

I think the reasons WHY Anne lacks self-esteem are definitely explainable. Early mother's death, lack of support from father & sister, etc. But I still think it makes her flawed, not perfect.

She is not a "picture of perfection", which JA said made her "sick and wicked.” She is perfectly human.

As for whether a hug or a SUTH is in order, perhaps a little of both are needed.
