Are you new?

Being the Captain of a Royal Navy warship, Frederick Wentworth must have been very impressed with Anne's decisive rational thinking after Louisa fell. She does not panic in an emergency unless it involves romance. Even then, Anne exercises a degree of control. She is almost like Ellen Ripley in the Alien series except she doesn't fire weapons.
