... a day after the group read started. The same shipment included Shapard's annotated Sense and Sensibility. I already owned Shapard's annotated Pride and Prejudice. Although I already have all of Austen's novels as Norton Critical Editions, it is much easier to read the Shapard annotated editions because he explains things I didn't bother to research before. For example, Shapard completely explained "The last office of the four carriage horses" from chapter 5 (page 66, notes 29 and 30).

I hope Shapard also annotates Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey. The annotated Emma will be released on February 7, 2012. Continue the good work!
