[lacked] the satisfaction of knowing Written by Stephanie (10/11/2011 9:40 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Similar Experience, penned by BarbaraB

There are several points where Anne does not seem to know until afterwards what is going on when Capt. Wentworth does something unexpected or strongly significant (to her). I wonder if that is supposed to be a sign of her surprise at his behavior, or of her overwhelming response to it, or partly of both.
