Many of you happy Pemberleans made so many references to David Shapard's annotated Persuasion that I ordered one for myself and it finally showed up. I don't regret it and the notations have quite spoiled me for anything else. Mr. Shapard's comments have elevated my understanding and pleasure in reading Persuasion to an unexpected level. I highly recommend this volume to anyone endeavoring to enhance their understanding of Jane Austen's works and her times. Again, thanks to our dear group readers.
