YOure right, It doesn't say. however the odds are that if Fred's brother was a clergyman, even a curate and his sister married a naval officer who did well for himself, and Fred became a naval officer too, the Wentworth family, while poor are "genteel". Othterwise Im sure that Lady R's objections would have included hte fact htat his family were tradespeople or the like....
