The danger in Mrs. Clay   Written by Kathryn Ann (10/7/2011 1:16 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Could dangerous mean the flattery?, penned by kathleen (elder)
Are you new?

I certainly agree that the danger is in Sir Walter falling for Mrs. Clay. Since Anne seems to think so, she is apparently looking out for Elizabeth's potential interests in warning her of this concern. I would think that Lady Russell would also have Elizabeth's potential interests in mind too. With two young children from her marriage, Mrs. Clay becoming the new Lady Elliott could mean Sir Walter's heir.

Although I still can't see HOW this affects Elizabeth since there is no hope at this point that Mr. Elliott will make Elizabeth the next Lady Elliott either!!
