We really can't fault Lady R. for her interference, but it's rather hard for me to remember that when I see how sad Anne is. "[Anne's] attachment and regrets had, for a long time, clouded every enjoyment of youth; and an early loss of bloom and spirits had been their lasting effect." (4) It makes me want to cry :(
