Sir Walter   Written by Nikki N (10/3/2011 11:36 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Neglecting Anne, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

yes, Sir Walter did not care for anyone except himself and Elizabeth --chap 1 --

"For one daughter, his eldest, he would really have given up anything, which he had not been very much tempted to do ... His two other children were of very inferior value. Mary had acquired a little artificial importance, by becoming Mrs. Charles Musgrove"

He did not single Anne out for neglect, he neglected both Anne and Mary. If Anne had accepted Charles Musgorve, it would have been Anne who "acquired a little artifical importacne".

He criticized the looks of everyone except himself and Elizabeth --
"he could plainly see how old all the rest of his family and acquaintance were growing. Anne haggard, Mary coarse, every face in the neighbourhood worsting, and the rapid increase of crow's foot about Lady Russell's temples"
