The pop-up text is here merely for convenience. If you wish to quote any text in your post, it is much easier to open it up and copy and paste into your message, rather than to type the quotation yourself. Or it's easy to do a search for a particular word or phrase if you're not exactly sure where in the book it is, rather than thumb through your copy looking for it. However, you need not use it if you don't wish to.
