Would CW had left Lyme and given Louisa a chance to bond with Benwick if Anne had stayed. Or for that matter, would Benwick had attached himself to Louisa if Anne had been around? I had this same thought about Mary and how important she turned out to be. Perhaps her boast at the end of being responsible for bringing them together at Uppercross was not far off the mark.
