makes sense from you both. They are free to choose somewhere to live that is free of the heaviness of the past.

I might venture to say that this is perhaps more symbolic a stepping stone to formalising Anne leaving her former life. In this way, it is like we can see she may have been given a choice, which is demonstrative in her definitely and completely leaving it. So they both left that old regime behind, so to speak. LOL. Hope this is clear, I was intrigued why in both films, they use variabilities of that theme in the cancelled chapters, and wondered about their choices to do so;-).
