The best part of the hunt this week was learning about the various buildings mentioned in JA's story. I now realize there is a lot more to the Gazetter than map reading. We can learn a lot about what JA tells us regarding her characters just by understanding the locales she cites. When I read about The Temple, I came to understand Mr. Elliot's situation twelve years ago, prior to his marriage.
