if Admiral Croft was prepared to hand over the lease to Anne and Mr Elliot, wouldn't he hand it over to the Captain and Anne, once in receipt of the real story? JA didn't further this theme, but it can safely be assumed, maybe, that the Admiral would make this offer to them, once the truth was known? Is this why they ended P3 like they did?? Is that what they based the ending on?
