Anxious elegance (and P3); engaging mildness (and P2)   Written by Tom P2 (10/31/2008 5:29 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, JA's descriptive phrases are so concise and precise, penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

I particularly like the ones that have been brought vividly to the screen. The ones that come to mind are the Elliot stampede to meet Lady Dalrymple before the concert in P3 (all the eagerness compatible with anxious elegance - ch20 - and perhaps even a little more eagerness for good measure), and Anne's quiet yet unflinching manner toward Captain Benwick in P2 (the engaging mildness of her countenance, and gentleness of her manners, soon had their effect - ch11).
