Mrs. Smith talks to Anne about the property her husband had in the West Indies. Now I wonder how he came in possession of it. As far as I know he was no Captain. Had he lived there? Had he relatives over there? Or was it fashionable to buy properties not only in England but also in far away places to show one´s wealth?
