Horrid comment...   Written by Moni (10/29/2008 11:35 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter 22 -- "...blinds let down...", penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

This is pretty bad, considering Lady Russell does her best to make sure she is good to Sir Walter (and Elizabeth also; -- the comments she makes in Bath are equally horrid!), because of rank.

My first thought was that, because she gives him the consequence of his rank, that she did put the blinds down, due to not wishing to offend him, perhaps? I don't know, I could be completely wrong.

What struck me most was the straight out meanness of that comment. It would be good revenge if Lady Russell put the blinds down so she didn't have to see him!! I thought this passage was intriguing, as well.
