Are you new?

So CW really was in a sense "broke and unemployed" when he and Anne first met. Previously, I was under the impression that he was merely on an extended shore leave in 1806 (perhaps a kind of R&R after actually having taken part in a battle) and that he was bound to get a ship again eventually. Now I see that this was not the case...
