This is probably why I always defend Wentworth during the first half of the book. I don't think the man who could write that letter is the kind of man who could meet the love of his life eight years after she ripped his heart out and offer to shake hands and be friends. If you want the passion and intensity of the letter (and I do, I do!) I think you have to accept the passion and intensity of his pain, too.
