Ch.19 (L&T): About that servant   Written by Line (10/27/2008 9:57 a.m.)
Are you new?

In ch.19, we are told that the ladies have taken refuge in Molland's because it has started to rain.

Lady Dalrymple's carriage, for which Miss Elliot was growing very impatient, now drew up; the servant came in to announce it.

I'm a bit confused about whose servant this would be - Lady Dalrymple's or the Elliots'? If it was the Elliots' servant, where would he have been waiting while the ladies were inside - out in the rain?
