I wonder how Benwick's situation affected Wentworth's view...   Written by JanELT (10/26/2008 9:24 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Long engagement gone wrong, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

Had he been engaged to Anne, had he gone to sea during their engagement in order to find his fortune, had their engagement been protracted, etc. I wonder if he had thought of the prudence of Anne's decision.

L&T: What was the adult age back then? Was it 18? Anne was 19 when she was persuaded to disengage from CW. Do you think that being an adult, that regardless of what LR told her, it was *still* Anne's decision to break off the engagement, that she couldn't blame anyone for it?

Ch 4: "She did not blame Lady Russell, she did not blame herself for having been guided by her; "

P.S. Sorry - Benwick was unmarried, only engaged. Slip of the keyboard LOL.
