I think the same   Written by Patricia P (10/24/2008 1:33 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I have to say, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

When I started reading this post I immediately thought this must be the Emotional blackmail that JulieW refered to. I have thought that Lady Russell can be rather over bearing in her relationship to Anne but I believe she has Ánne's best interests at heart-in Lady Russell's view of life. One wonders what her own marriage was like that she would think a marriage of convenience would be the very thing for Anne. Why would she want Anne to live her whole life as a convenience? Surely she is that already and ought to better herself in marriage?
