It's interesting that each of them has the ohter in mind when they're considering what is important in a partner: "Anne Elliot was not out of his thoughts, when he more seriously described the woman he should wish to meet with. "A strong mind, with sweetness of manner," made the first and the last of the description."

What I found from rereading this, however, is that we are told of the first and last of the description of what CW finds important ... but what, if anything, comes in between? Do Anne's good qualities lies here with the exception (perhaps?) of her being too easily persuaded?
