This is why I enjoy trying to figure out why a JA character might do something—I always have the feeling their behavior is logical with their personality. Just one example, I think Frederick’s cold resentful behavior to Anne up to Lyme is wonderfully true to life. His bitterness, anger and resentfulness manifest in small ways which only Anne notices but still makes his feelings perfectly clear to her. (;D)
