To me, this phrase is yet another example of JA's understanding of human nature. LR is pleased and relieved that she turned out to be right after all, while at the same time angrier (than ever, perhaps?) with CW for not appreciating Anne the way he should.

The list in ch.16 is a little dig at LR, but she *does* care, IMO.
