Was LR feeling justified in her good judgement all along? It's interesting but I got the feeling she was soundly pleased she gave the right advice to Anne. And in some ways it does look like it! She favours Anne almost ferociously, because of her value as her God daughter, and for her elegance and tasteful sensitivities.

So as to say, and taking in the rivalries in the gentle neighbourhood between classes, she thinks the Captain never had enough taste to secure Anne, when he could select Louisa Musgrove as a wife??
