Also, I noted here that the Musgroves retained a servant, the old nurse, that they could easily have dismissed once she was no longer needed. Was this neglect to think about her? Or, as I like to think, the Musgroves allowing an old and valued servant to continue in the house rather than turf her out to a poor old age.
