I agree that she would spend much time alone - but what about her children? I think when it comes to a comparison who needed her more, Louisa or her children I would vote for the latter. Interesting to read her letter in ch.18:

The house was cleared yesterday, except of the little Harvilles; but you will be surprised to hear that they have never gone home. Mrs. Harville must be an odd mother to part with them so long. I do not understand it.

I wonder who parted longer with her children?!
